With a population of 5000 friendly and peaceful residents, Aldergrove does come with a little bit of shady history. Aldergrove was once home to Canada’s first and most famous train robber, the “Grey Fox”. More formerly known as Bill Miner, the Grey Fox was brought to justice in 1906 by local residents Duncan and Robert Shortread. Like neighboring Abbotsford, Aldergrove is home to more than just Alder trees. There is also an abundance of strawberries, raspberries, cranberries and many other types of vegetation which are grown on the vast agricultural land which encompasses the town. There is an abundance of outdoor recreational activity to be found in Aldergrove as well as the convenience of shopping, dining, and golfing to name a few activities to be found. As well, Aldergrove is also home to the Greater Vancouver Zoological Centre where you will find over 200 species of animals including but not limited to lions, tigers, bears and more.
